QFactorial is a boutique quality management consultancy providing innovative solutions to clients who value a flexible, modern approach. Our services include ISO management systems, business process improvement and strategic quality assurance programmes. Our clients range from small businesses and start-ups to national and international organizations.
We are a small team with an expanding network of associates, selected for their ability to deliver pragmatic, business-friendly solutions within tight budgets and timescales. Our associates are often required to apply and adapt their specialist expertise in new sectors, meeting new standards, solving new problems and taking on new challenges. They share our belief that every client deserves a solution that is uniquely designed for their business.
There is more to consulting than knowing your subject and blagging convincingly about it. Being a quality consultant is not the same as being a quality manager, auditor or trainer. You need to be all three and more, including, at different times: author, innovator, analyst, realist, optimist, diplomat, advocate, arbiter, referee and mentor. Your CV may demonstrate some of these credentials, but technical competence is only half the story. The rest is about empathy with the client and flexibility to think, see and do things differently to satisfy each client’s unique needs.
How does it work?
It’s a flexible arrangement on both sides. We will be one of your potential sources for consulting work; you will be one of our potential resources. As a QFactorial Associate Consultant, you remain free to pursue your own business development when not working for or with us. When you are representing QFactorial, you must align to our ethos and approach, including the terms and conditions of any agreements made with us or our clients.
We work on the basis of framework agreements within which specific assignments are developed and awarded. There is no obligation to accept an assignment and, conversely, no obligation for us to offer any. Both parties will sign our standard consultancy agreement to this effect. In practice, we are constantly looking for work to keep our associates busy.
When a collaboration opportunity is identified by either party, we will share the costs and efforts of developing the opportunity from prospect to proposal to project. We believe that the associate should meet with the client as early as possible to establish a personal rapport, with a mutual expectation that they will be the client’s consultant should the project be awarded.
You will provide your own transport, IT and communications equipment. We will provide a QFactorial email address and access to our secure, cloud-based project filing and collaboration system. QFactorial sales and marketing materials are made available to support joint business development efforts.
Once a project is won, the associate takes the lead on project execution, supported from QFactorial head office (Q!HQ). For larger projects the roles may be more balanced or even reversed. You may work alone or with other associate consultants on the same assignment. The exact arrangements, terms and expectations for each project are documented in Assignment Schedules issued to each Associate, including pre-agreed day rates, time commitments and scope of work for that assignment.
