YOUR SYSTEM DESIGNED FOR YOUR REALITY
A QFactorial business management system is unique for your business and can be designed to accommodate a range of ISO standards or any other specification set by you. A QFactorial BMS will describe the way you want to do business, supporting your strategy and your culture.
1. System design
3. ISO certification
4. UKAS accreditation
A management system that primarily describes ‘the way we work around here’ whilst also satisfying compliance requirements.
Before starting to design a management system, we conduct a gap and synergy assessment to find out where we need to focus our efforts, the gaps we need to bridge and foundations that we can build upon. You’ll be surprised how much synergy we can find with our ‘glass half full’ approach. And we know you’ll agree with our design principles: empathy, simplicity, brevity and reality.
We believe that every business is different, therefore every management system should be different. The proof of the design is in the implementation: is the system used voluntarily or under duress? Whilst we can provide guidance and stewardship, in the end it is your system and you must learn to love and implement it.
Successful implementation hinges on the right kind of leadership and communication. If you can provide that, we can steer you towards any number of ISO certifications and other approvals. One system, multiple approvals. We won’t overstay our welcome, but if you need support to maintain the approval we can offer monthly or quarterly support programmes.
For laboratory testing and calibration activities, UKAS accreditation is likely to be more useful than ISO certification, although you may benefit from both. As with ISO certification, we work to integrate the requirements into your normal business practices as far as possible. We won’t overstay our welcome, but if you need support to maintain the approval we can offer monthly or quarterly support programmes.
Every business operation is a collection of processes, be they formal or informal, written or spoken, paper or electronic. Each process should be designed to convert inputs to outputs with the least effort, cost and waste. Your business management system is how these processes connect and interact to ensure you achieve your business goals. Without a BMS, you may just have a collection of processes working in isolation, duplication and contradiction.
If your people are provided with a sensible set of rules and tools, they will have no need to waste time and effort making up their own rules and tools to serve their own personal agendas. Consistency can be codified in standards, embedded in software or absorbed by learning and doing. In most organizations there will be a mixed approach. It’s our job to strike the right balance when designing your BMS.
Most of you will have heard of ISO 9001, the international standard for (quality) management systems. ISO 9001 has many sons and daughters, indeed most ISO standards for management systems are extensions of ISO 9001. We can design your management system to comply with one or more ISO standards in the most efficient way. And we can guide you through the ISO maze to achieve certification in a business-friendly manner. See Our Standards.
One of the main reasons our clients come to us for management systems is to support business growth. All successful SMEs reach a point where they need more structure and process in their operations in order to maintain control, consistency and compliance as they get bigger. We can help you to manage the change and establish the system.
ISO certification is a minefield of unscrupulous consultants and unaccredited certificate mills. But if you want the job done properly, with credibility and added-value, there are respectable and ethical alternatives. QFactorial is one of them.
