Strategic Quality Review of Hydraulic Crane Installers

With the installation of its cranes largely outsourced, this world-leading manufacturer needed an assessment of the global installation landscape in terms of quality capability. An extensive programme of stakeholder interviews, site visits, document reviews and data analysis was undertaken.
The comprehensive report to senior management yielded eight areas for strategic action and a multi-year installer development programme. A supplementary exercise was carried out to calculate the “size of the prize” using cost of quality methodology.
