Strategic quality programme for complex industrial equipment

Client Challenge

A globally recognised manufacturer of heavy lifting equipment had embarked on an ambitious ‘Quality for Growth’ strategy, with Oakland appointed as lead consultants.
An unacceptable level of manufacturing defects had led the client to realise that a complete overhaul of quality management was required. Working within the Oakland team, we were asked to build a defect containment perimeter, a quality firewall, for the factory floor, then look at the bigger picture of installation quality worldwide.
