SouthWestSensor builds microfluidic sensors that monitor water quality and help treatment plants run more efficiently, bringing the lab to the water rather than the other way round.

Approach taken
Following our trademark Gap and Synergy Assessment, we mapped SWS’s processes, created a system framework, wrote bespoke procedures, created their Live Trackers workbook, wrote a Laboratory Manual and integrated everything via a Management System Manual. Staff training, internal audit and management review got the team fully ready for third-party certification, with improvements driven through the tried and trusted PDCA cycle. We used our own ISO 9001 system to show, not just tell, what good documentation should look like.
