Orange Chemicals

ISO 9001 for chemical distributor through transition, turmoil and sale of the business

Client Challenge

Orange Chemicals ran an international sales and logistics network for bulk chemical distribution until its acquisition by IMCD in 2023.
We began working with them in 2017, rebuilding their QMS for the ISO 9001:2015 transition, then stayed on for six years of maintenance, improvement and a fair share of global upheaval caused by the Covid pandemic, Brexit and weather-related logistics challenges.
Long-term ISO 9001 support for chemical distributor

The new BMS fulfilled the company’s criteria while fully complying with the ISO 9001 standard. QFactorial: a job very well done.

Key challenges included:

QMS transition needed whilst maintaining a strong audit track record

Multiple 3PL partners and complex supply chains to map

Covid, Brexit and supply chain chaos mid-partnership

System needing to stay lean through six years of change

Quarterly audits expected to keep adding value

Outcomes achieved

ISO 9001:2015 transition completed in 11.5 consulting days

Zero audit findings on the original transition

Certification maintained through six years of disruption

Quarterly audit programme run like clockwork, without a single gap

Partnership held firm right through to acquisition

Gosh, you shouldn’t have…
